Unbelievably, after posting yesterday that I would need to buy some basil seeds, I went through my mail and there, in a Sunset magazine letter asking me to subscribe, was a packet of Basil seeds! If they grow well, Sunset magazine may well get my subscription! (Of course, if I subscribe, does that mean they won’t send me seeds to lure me in next year?) -So this morning I planted the miracle basil seeds, and there were enough seeds to make 4 tidy little rows of basil hope. If none of the basil seeds sprout, the joke is on me!
On our garden path to the veggie garden is my amazing, prolific, sweet citrus hybrid, that has all sorts of citrus grafted onto one plant. Since so many of the fruits looked ripe, I decided to harvest them and WOW – all sorts of oranges and tangerines, a great April Fools harvest! I tried TWO and both so juicy, and one was incredibly beyond sweet (we won’t mention the other one!). Here is a picture of the harvest, minus the two that didn’t last til photo shoot time:
Here is wishing all of you a lovely April 1, and may your mailbox fill with whatever seeds you need! It’s so much better to find seeds in the mail rather than bills!
