JaaazzzzJaaazzzz is my tribute to smokey jazz and blues clubs, where jazz emerged to influence modern music. I wanted to use smokey colors and big swirls, not just to mimic smoke, but also to show the music was flowing. I chose colors and shapes hoping to evoke the organic, improvisational nature of jazz. While I am not ‘nusical,’ I do love to write lyrics for musicians to put to music – you can find more of this at Tunesmith.bz – and part of this love of working with musicians is in this artwork Jaaazzzz. Also, I chose Jaaazzzz for the cover of my book Tempo – The Rhythm & Rhyme of the Artist because that book, which blends my art and writing, also came together organically.
