Voting Booth
Voting Booth was inspired by the election process all United States citizens share. I wanted to show the diversity of the United States coming together at the poll booth. The feet showing below each voting booth curtain symbolize that diversity. You can see workmen’s boots, socialite pumps, an elderly woman’s shoes and cane, a mother with her daughter (and dolly shoes), and the successful executive shoes with briefcase. At the same time, the voting booth curtains above each citizen’s feet show what that citizen might be voting for, while the artwork at the top shows facets of the United States we all share, such as firemen, currency/taxes, the right to vote, etc. This is one of several of my artworks on display at Santa Barbara City Hall.
