This work “I Love You Mom” is also known as “Mere et Filles” and was inspired by my Mother, who mentioned to me she had seen an interesting artwork featuring floating bubbles. I decided to surprise her and create an artwork with floating bubbles. For fun, I created one bubble with my Mother and I sitting on it, chatting. I also added in a montage of floating elements, including favorite flowers, some of which have meaning for us. In this work I perfected a new technique – if you look very closely you will see the words ‘I Love You Mom’ faintly written diagonally across the artwork. This is my first use of hidden writing to send a message in an artwork. I am especially pleased with how the pansy came out!
