Inspired by the diverse history of the world and storytelling, A World of Stories is a hand-signed, numbered Limited Edition giclee print on canvas by the artist M. Nicole van Dam. Each Limited Edition will have a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
History of the A World of Stories: The original work was created in 2013, and features the amazing, fascinating things in our world that have fostered stories, fables, lore and religions: a giraffe of Africa, the Geisha of Japan, the polar bear of the Arctic or Antarctica, the New Mexico Kokopelli honoring the Native American Indian and their storytelling traditions, a grey whale (a nod to Ernest Hemmingway as well as to the vast treasure of stories and mysteries housed in the oceans, seas, and bodies of water), the Sphynx of Egypt (a nod also to the mysteries of the Great Pyramids), the Chinese Dragon of China, the magical Eiffel Tower of Paris, France, the talkative parrot (and all the tales and sea adventures the parrot can connote), the whimsical penguin of Alaska, Antartica and our colder climes, a many armed Hindu god (a nod to both Vishnu and Kali), St. Peter's Basilica with its colorful turrets, the lyre representing Homer and the Iliad and the Odyssey (and the tales of adventure and art of storytelling those works represent), the blue bird of happiness, the adorable koala bear of Australia, the bigger than life sunflower, an abundance of flowers such as beautiful tulips and roses - the more you look the more you will see. This work also depicts various landscapes, a river, water swirls and has an engaging Impressionist flair.

Only the Limited Editions are sold directly by Nicole, everything else is sold by third party retailers and manufacturers, but you can still get these items signed by Nicole. If you are interested in purchasing something you don’t see here, or would like to request a signature on something you have already purchased, please feel free to contact us.

I’m always happy to sign books and things with my art for you (if practical – some things simply cannot be signed, but I can write a separate note for you, and some things, like the boots, are sold with collector cards that I can sign for you). If you would like for me to sign something (and write a personal note to someone), I’ll be happy to do that, please contact me for details. The process entails your shipping your items to me, in a box with the following things: (1) legible instructions giving me the name(s) you want included on the note and something about each person (helps me write the personal notes); and (2) everything I will need to ship the items back to you (i.e., postage pre-paid packaging addressed to you). Please make sure you give me enough time! Especially in the holiday season!
