Spring is HERE and the Garden is ALIVE!

A Bounty of Roses - some of the lovely flowers that make my heart sing when I see them

It’s absolutely glorious outside!  Spring is here, the fruit trees have more flowers than ever, we have a few twittering bird tenants in the nesting boxes, and the veggie garden is planted!  -And yes, I know, the tomatoes will take over again, just like they do every year, and I probably won’t get to eat too many of those beckoning fruits on the peach, cherry, apple, apricot and Asian apple pear trees because the impish squirrels and happy birds usually get their bites first, and unless a miracle happens the raccoon will get all the corn again but…. I LOVE IT!  I’ll go organic again – that seems to work pretty well so far. There seem to be lots of grapes starting on the seedless red flame grape vines so maybe I will be able to nibble on some of those before the birds get them! It is absolute bliss to be in this green garden haven, with every step round the garden paths my heart soars and I find myself smiling just being there.  The dogs of course supervise everything – and make me smile with theiir antics.  The size difference between the Leonberger and the Chihuahua-Pomeranian-Papillion one of a kinder is a laugh in and of itself – and then add in the tennis ball chases and squirrel races and it’s all happy crazy.  Since we pruned the trees to open up the view, it seems the fruit trees have many more flowers than last year, AND as I sip my coffee, the view is inspiring. HAPPY HAPPY!  I hope these photos give you a smile too!

The Supervisors - a Leonberger and a Chihuahua-Pomeranian-Papillion One-of-a-Kinder!

Corn - All neat in a row, and waiting for the raccoon!

The center veggie bed - chard, tomatoes, basil, and a blueberry (blueberry still hanging in there)

So pretty and peaceful in the veggie garden!

Tomatoes and more Tomatoes, waiting to take over like they always do!

What is that bolted Kale still doing in the box? Has anyone ever let Kale turn into a tree before?

Blossoms on the Asian Apple Pear Tree - can't wait - YUM!

This year there are just oooodles of dount peach blossoms - maybe there will be enough for me AND the birds?
